Insights shows how people use your published website without identifying an individual visitor. Open Insights under Business in the editor. Home also shows a short seven-day summary once your website is live.
Choose a period
Use 7 days, 30 days or 90 days at the top of the screen. Your plan decides how much history and which breakdowns are included. A period with a lock is not included in the current plan. Free includes 7 days; Pro includes up to 90 days.
The last day includes visits so far today. Earlier days come from completed daily totals.
What the numbers mean
- Visits adds each day's anonymous visitors. The same person can count again on another day, so this is a visit count, not a claim about individual people.
- Page views is how many pages visitors opened.
- Inquiries is how many messages the website received in the period.
- Conversion is inquiries divided by visits. When there are no visits yet, it stays blank instead of implying a percentage.
Top pages ranks pages by how many times they were opened. A profile or litter page can also appear in the deeper breakdowns included by some plans.
Sources and devices
Sources are broad categories:
- Direct includes a typed address, bookmark or a source the browser did not send.
- Search includes visits from common search engines.
- Social includes visits from common social networks.
- Other sites groups other referring websites.
Devices are grouped as desktop, mobile or tablet. These are aggregate counts. Kennel Press does not show IP addresses, names, browser histories or a list of individual visitors, and customer websites do not set an analytics cookie.
What to expect
Insights grows from the day your site begins receiving visits. Source, device and record totals can add up differently from the headline Visits number because one visit may open several pages, and a person may return on another day.
If something goes wrong
Make sure your website is published, then share its live address. Your own visits from View Site are ignored so checking your work does not inflate the totals. Search crawlers, previews, people with Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, and known automated traffic are not counted.
